1TB support for AX150
Do you think it is possible that in next future the AX150 is able to support the newest 1TB disk drives?
by the way, is it possible to create a mixed virtual disk environment? we have 5x500GB and would add other 7x750 creating two virtual disks.
thanks,
alessio

1st Question: what exactly do you mean by the newest 1TB drives ? EMC has 2 types on the 1TB drives: 7k2 and the 5k4 drives.

So as 1TB disk I mean that, for my knowledge, the AX150 supports only disks up to 750GB. I was wondering if a new firmware would be able to support the 1TB disks too.
thanks

latest version for the AX150-Series:
thanks,
so the answer is no, there will not be a 1TB disk drive support and no, I cannot use the AX-SS07-750 inside the AX150.
I was wondering what's the difference between the AX-SS07-750 and AX-S207-750 then..
thanks,
a

Answer is No and I reckon it will always stay No! as there will be no further update to AX150 FLARE.
You may refer to the Microsite: EMC CLARiiON AX150 support: Learn for Disk and FLARE OE Matrix. The highest supported size is still 750GB.

After a couple of years I'm still here with this question.
The AX150 got end-of-life cycle from EMC but I was wondering if an update of FLARE to support other new disks is still possible. I'm asking this because we have some failing disk which are difficult to replace because not easy to find anymore.

Sell it on ebay or contact your account sales manager for a deal! [While you can] or if you are not worried about the data buy new compatible disks. [probably at a high price, if this is not covered under a contract]
Go for a basic modern storage unit, you will have a peaceful sleep at night I can assure you that!

Thanks for your reply. So what the best option for my box that has 3 of 7x750GB disks failing? The box is still working and it's a pity trash it for this reason.

Migrate your data to some new storage as quick as possible. Then re-create the RAID group and use it only in test lab.
