Conexion Clariion AX4 con ESXi 4
Podrían ayudarme con una duda, tengo el siguiente escenario;
Tengo un storage AX4 iSCSI y 2 servidores host ESXi 4.1 que tiene 2 HBA iSCSI de 1 puerto c/u. la configuración de los puertos del storage y los servidores es la siguiente.
AX4-i
SPA-0: 10.10.5.101 SPA-1: 10.10.5.102
SPB-0: 10.10.6.101 SPB-0: 10.10.6.102
ESXi1 (Conectado al SPA-0 y SPB-0)
vSwitch
iSCSI1: 10.10.5.103 iSCSI1: 10.10.6.103
NIC Teaming
NIC2: ACTIVA NIC3: ACTIVA
NIC3: SIN USAR NIC2: SIN USAR
ESXi2 (Conectado al SPA-1 y SPB-1)
vSwitch
iSCSI1: 10.10.5.104 iSCSI1: 10.10.6.104
NIC Teaming
NIC2: ACTIVA NIC3: ACTIVA

Could help me with a question, I have the following scenario;
I have a storage AX4 iSCSI and 2 servers host ESXi 4.1 which has 2 HBA 1 port iSCSI EA. configuring storage ports and servers is as follows.
AX4-i SPA-0: 10.10.5.101 SPA-1: 10.10.5.102
SPB-0: 10.10.6.101 SPB-0: 10.10.6.102
ESXi1 (connected to the SPA-0 and SPB-0)
vSwitch
iSCSI1: 10.10.5.103 iSCSI1: 10.10.6.103
NIC Teaming
NIC2: ACTIVE NIC3: ACTIVE
NIC3: UNUSED NIC2: UNUSED
ESXi2 (connected to the SPA-1 and SPB-1)
vSwitch
iSCSI1: 10.10.5.104 iSCSI1: 10.10.6.104
NIC Teaming
NIC2: ACTIVE NIC3: ACTIVE
NIC3: UNUSED NIC2: UNUSED
Navisphere express to verify option connections indicates that two ports connected servers maintains it active for a moment, but when it recognizes the luns presented to a single esx maintains an active port and other disabled, single lun path refers to an ip address, and now Navisphere Express looks that only activates a port by controller and not the two connected.
ESXi1
A0 - INACTIVE
A1 - INACTIVE
B0 - ACTIVE
B1 - INACTIVE
ESXi2
A0 - INACTIVE
A1 - INACTIVE
B0 - INACTIVE
B1 - Active
If someone has something to help me fix this, is it much appreciate.

Shouldn't your SP ports be on different subnets? Ex. A0/A1 on different subnets. Check white paper on CLARiiON with ESX attached.

AX4-i - note that subnet .5.xxx is on SPA and .6.xxx is on SPB
SPA-0: 10.10.5.101
SPA-1: 10.10.5.102
SPB-0: 10.10.6.101
SPB-1: 10.10.6.102
ESXi1 (connected to the SPA-0 and SPB-0)
vSwitch
10.10.5.103 - this can only connect to SPA ports <----> 10.10.5.101 SPA-0 - Will only see LUNs that are owned by SPA
10.10.6.103 - this can only connect to SPB ports <----> 10.10.6.101 SPB-0 - Will only see LUNs that are owned by SPB
You probably need to have four paths:
10.10.5.103 <----> 10.10.5.101 SPA-0
10.10.5.103 <----> 10.10.5.102 SPA-1
10.10.6.103 <----> 10.10.6.101 SPB-0
10.10.6.103 <----> 10.10.6.102 SPB-1
Best Practice recommends:
SPA-0: 10.10.5.101
SPA-1: 10.10.6.101
SPB-0: 10.10.6.102
SPB-1: 10.10.5.102
10.10.5.103 <----> 10.10.5.101 SPA-0
10.10.5.103 <----> 10.10.5.102 SPB-1
10.10.6.103 <----> 10.10.6.101 SPA-1
10.10.6.103 <----> 10.10.6.102 SPB-0

I thought I read somewhere that NIC teaming is not supported with AX4 (iSCSI) connections... let me dig up the document ;-)

VM NIC Teaming is supported for software iSCSI configurations with the AX4 and ESXi 4.x. I'm thinking maybe you are referring to the use of the MS (and even Linux) software initiator where NIC teaming is not supported.
