Difference between PS and SPS is faulted ?

Hi,

We get the following errors from Unisphere for a CX4-240 SAN.

We would like to know what is the difference of PS and SPS fault.

My understanding is SPSA is faulted.  What does the other 2 PS error means ?

PS (Enclosure SPE Power B1) is faulted.
PS (Enclosure SPE Power A1) is faulted.
SPS (Enclosure SPE SPS A) is faulted.

Error code for first 2 errors is 0x7402

Error code for the third error is 0x7404

Thanks

B0_E0 should be connected to SPS. Can you double check how it's connected ?

Hi,

Does it mean that PS Error is referred to PDU ?

Thanks

PS error is for the Power Supply of an enclosure, it can be an issue with the PS unit or the PDU feeding the power to the unit or the SPS feeding power to the 1st Enclosure (B0_E0) as mentioned by dynamox. Please check the cabling.

Also, I suggest you contact the support team asap to get the issue checked and remove fault(s) at the earliest.

Dear Sandip,

Many thanks for your explanation.

Support staff asked us to reboot the SPA.  Now, the WRITE CACHE is enabled again.

However, we still get the error message in Unisphere.  We believe that it is a problem of APC UPS.

May I ask

1) Why a reboot of SPA is required ?

2) Why the WRITE CACHE is enabled even though one of SPS is still not working (at least not Present) ?
