How far back have you been able to go in your event log for the array? I can usually go back at least three weeks (the farthest I have tried to go back) using the > button to scroll through previous events. If you need to go back farther you could always export the events once every two weeks and then archive it.

Hi,

I can see last 5 years event on CX400.

My client want to see events in last month.

Does CX3 change event log behavior?

Thank you for advice.

take a look at this article:  emc168004  . Is there something going on the array that overruns the log file ..51 thousand events is a lot of events.

Hi,

So it's normal to see last 3 weeks logs.

Could you show me how to export the logs regularly?

Thank you,

i can see 3 months worth of logging, 3 weeks is kind of low ..what events are being logged ? There is a "Save" botton in Navisphere when you are looking at Events or write a script to save it to a file every so often

naviseccli -h ss1_spa getlog -3

will display last 3 entries.

In newer Clariions (Navisphere) you don't get to see all the events, but the events are devided in pages. In the bottom of the event screen you can choose the next and previous pages

One other thing to note is that when you retrieve events from the Event Log, it can take 10-15 minutes to fully populate before you are able to scroll down to the 'first' event in the logs.  As RRR mentioned, in Flare v28 on up, you are given 500 scollable lines at a time before you have to ">" to the next set of entries.

yes, this is the correct answer ! naviseccli -h ss1_spa getlog -x, where x is the number of logs entry (If a range of entries is not specified, the entire log is displayed with the oldest entry first).

I saw a lot of discussion about this theme, in a way that is very confused because same question about same topic are not grouped, but this is the only correct answer. bye
