After you run the SP Collects, You will get the SP collects file starts with Array serial number and ends with data.zip under File transfer Manager.

Right Click SPA or SPB--> File Transfer Manager-- Select the file and store it in the local machine where you desire.

By default transfer manager wants to save them in your profile directory ..you can manually specify alternate location.

SP Collects are stored in the C:\DUMPS directory on each SP. That directory is mapped on Vault Drive(s) as CLARiiON runs on a Custom Windows OS. The OS itself is stored in a Vault Drives, so when the SP runs spcollects script, it puts all the files together in a temporary space while working and then zips them up into the c:\dumps folder when done, not just the SP Collects you will find dump files as well.

Example of SPcollect output data filename and Dump filename looks like:

spx_chassisSerialNumber_spsignature_date_time_data.zip

spx_chassisSerialNumber_spsignature_date_time_dmp.zip

SP A - Vault Dsk 0-2 (Mirrored)

SP B - Vault Dsk 1-3 (Mirrored)

I hope this answers your query.

If you use the new USM (Unisphere Service Manager - available on PowerLink), you can one click to get your spcollects - it gets both SPA and SPB in a single zip file.

for SPA spcollects, it is on disk 0.0.0 and 0.0.2 (mirrored replationship)

for SPB spcollects, it is on disk 0.0.1 and 0.0.3 (mirrored replationship)

I find it amazing how everybody answers this question in his own way. You're asking where the spcollects are stored BEFORE you transfer them to your local machine, so the answer is indeed c:\dumps on the c: drive of the OS that's actually running on SPA or SPB. Not all spcollects are stored indefinately, nor are the Analyzer's NAR files which are also stored on this c: drive. There's a sort of rotation log cleanup process that makes sure that there's always room left for the SP to play on.

RRR, C:\dumps is mapped to Vault Drives, so SP collects are stored on Vault Drives that is the answer.

What is FLARE? A Customer 64bit Windows OS.

Where it is stored? On a Vault Drive.

Windows creates a Logical Volumes and thus it has folders etc. C:\dumps is nothing but a folder mapped for CLARiiON logs. Period.
