VSphere (ESX4) and CX500 compatibility (HCL) status?

Hello All,

I am about to stage a VSphere infrastructure on a CX500 and of course I just realized the one small detail of the CX500 not being on the hardware compatibility list for VSphere. Everything works fine, but am worried about 'best effort support only' from VMWare if things go south.

I phoned VMWare and they mentioned that it is incumbent upon EMC to perform the certification process.

Can someone on the EMC comment on the status of this? I do realize that the CX500 is now end of life; however, in this era of planned obsolescence and disposability, it would be nice to see a company stand behind a product.

I searched on powerlink and could not find if CX500 is EOSL.

thanks much!

doh...filtered by whitepaper only on powerlink and did find EOSL:

https://powerlink.emc.com/nsepn/webapps/btg548664833igtcuup4826/km/live1/en_US/Legacy_Conversion/PL_Support/Other/Release_and_EOSL_Dates_-_All_Hardware_Products.pdf

For CX500,

EOL was 31-Dec-2006

EOSL is 31-Dec-2011

So...looks hopeful... ;))

Help me EMC, you're my only hope...
