Dell cancelled my order without any notification. Now my egift card has expired.

I placed an order with Dell. Was expecting Dell to ship it within 5 days. But Dell cancelled the order and didn't even have the courtesy to send me a cancellation email. Now my egift card has expired. I had no idea the order was even cancelled untill it wasq too late.
I spoke to Customer service and  they said I would have to speak to Gift Card department. Spoke to them and they said they were within their rights to cancel the order and they were the final authority and no replacement card would be issued.
Spoke again to CS and they expressed  their sympathies  and offered to escalate it to their manager.Manger was busy and she said he would call back. He never did.
Looks like this whole Gift card scheme is like  free money for DELL and difficult to rectify for customer.
Extremely dis-satisfied at  Dell's level of service. Looks like the customer is always wrong from their point of view.
