Who's Telling the Truth?

I have an Alienware R8 shipping to my boyfriend's address with the idea that FedEx service will be better. They claimed they made the first attempt today without contacting him. We see the inevitable pattern so I call to ask they will hold the package after three attempts. A FedEx rep said there was a restriction preventing than from holding it and that Dell would have to lift it.

A chat with a Dell rep in India said it will be held; when I called Dell to confirm they said it won't. **bleep** is this proving to be so difficult? What is the policy? IS THERE A POLICY?!

If it winds up going back I'll just cancel the order; Best Buy I guess.
