How to open required ports to perform clone controlled replication between two data domains

Hi Admins,

I have configured a Networker Backup Server with two data domains. One data domain for backup at head office and other for DR at remote site. On performing the Clone operation, there is a successful session established between the two data domains. But there is a no progress in completion status even after 12 hrs.

EMC Networker version:-9.0.1.1

DD Model : 2500

DD OS version: 5.6.0.3-485123

On referring admin guides, it is know that we need to open below ports on DD's. Can someone please tell how to open these below ports on DD's.

TCP 2049 (NFS)

TCP 2051 (Replication / Opt-Dupe)

TCP 111  (RPC portmapper)

TCP 2052 (mountd, changeable with help from your support provider)

DD has no internal firewall. You've to open the ports on your production firewalls - if needed.

Edit: are there any other messages? There is a valid device/volume in the destination pool?

On DDOS, do you see any traffic?  I suspect it doesn't run as otherwise it would most likely already finish I guess.

Hi Mkeil,

You are right, we have to open the ports on production firewalls.

The issue here is with the DNS servers.

The two DataDomains have separate DNS servers, after adding the conditional forwarders in DNS the cloning starts working fine.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,

Devendra Reddy.
