Chargeback Policy calculations

In DPA 6.1.2 I have created a Backup Chargeback policy that specifies a Base Size of 150 GB and a Base Cost of 75.  I applied this policy to a client that has a backup size of 3 GB and when I run the report Chargeback Details by Client for the last month it shows a backup cost of $225.00 instead of $75.00.  Any ideas as to where the problem is at?  Thanks

Hi,

The Base Size and Base cost actually means x amount for the first y GBs. So in your example what you have specified actually means $75 per GB for the first 150GB.

I would like to be able to create a chargeback policy that allows me to specify a cost for data protected up to a specified amount.  For example $100.00 for up to 150 Gb protected and then $.40 per Gb of data protected above 150 Gb.  Do you know how I would submit that as an enhancement request?  Thanks.

Hi,

The official procedure for a Request for Enhancement is to open a support request via support.emc.com. From there, you can request an RFE form from the support contact. The form will ask questions concerning the business justification and importance. The request may then be considered for a future release.

Regards,

Brett
