DPA Application will not connect to datastore service

I have done all the usual connectivity checks, and I can't seem to get the application to connect to the datastore. ping tests work, there are no firewalls on either server, they are on the same portgroup on the same ESXi host. The install and configure went fine, but connecting from the web portal left me with the " Data Protection Advisor service startup failed. Please contact administrator." error.


further digging seems to indicate a communication issue, but i can't figure out what to do next in troubleshooting this. If anyone had any idea what I could be missing, or what to do next to try and troubleshoot that would be greatly appreciated.

From the datastore server:

I am having the same issue for DPA using RED HAT LINUX 7.4

I cannot find any KB suitable , I dont have any firewalls since its in my lab env.

Could you share the resolution if u remember
