Compellent in OME 2 reported Unknown

Hi.

OME is able to detect the Connection status as ON, and DNS device name.

But Service TAG is N/A, Device Type is Unclassified, Model is N/A, Health Status is ?

Any clue?

Hi Sergio,

Thanks for the query.

I hope this concerns OME and not OMSA. Can you please confirm the version of OME you have deployed and the model / firmware version of the Compellent storage device you wish to monitor?

Also, you can refer this white paper for more details on Compellent support in OME:

Thanks Shivendra.

OpenManage Essentials
Version 2.0.1.2222

Compellent SC8000
6.5.30.17

Thanks for the white paper, i ran the troubleshooting tool, the system is reponding, but in OME is reported as unknown

Thanks for the details, Sergio.

All seems fairly compatible, however, I would suggest you to make sure that the SNMP community string provided in OME to discover the storage array is same as the one provided while troubleshooting.

Note: SNMP community string is case-sensitive.

Please let us know about further investigation results.

Thanks Shivendra.

I changed the Trap Type to SNMPv2 and now is working :)

Thanks

Thanks for taking time and updating this thread, Sergio!

Note: OME does not support SNMP v3 for discovery at this point.
