OME / ssh host key linux server

When I try to update a linux server using OME I get the error :

Results: File deploy command failed to execute with error message: The server's host key is not cached in the registry. The system may not be the same.

How can I fix this / where in the registry should I put the host key ?

Sorry, I think that was a bad tip I gave you.  I asked around and got this suggestion.  Can you review?  I'll be OoO a few days.  But if you don't mind, I'll toss this over. :)  If not, let me know and I'll get  back on this when I'm back in.

Change IP address to Linux box and change password below to match environment.

echo y | "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\bin\plink.exe" -ssh root@xxx.168.50.111 -pw myPassword exit

then the task should run.

Hi Rob,

This doesn't help.

I'm still getting the same error after adding the key with plink.

I tried using the ip and (dns)hostname.

Plink itself is adding the key, when running the command for a second time I don't get the do you want to add the key question.

I also tried to reboot the ome server after adding the key.

Hi Stephan,

Let’s try a bit of debugging/workaround to see if it helps.

- Create a remote task

- With the following command  omreport system summary

- Target the Linux machine you want to update

- Check Generate Trusted Key for Linux

- Run the task and make sure it run successfully

- Go to the system update portal create a system update task and run it

I’d like to know if the omreport task runs to see if it is related to the trusted key.

Thanks.

I am having the same issue, I attempted to create the remote task but received the same error with the remote task results - "Results:   The servers's host key is not cached in the registry.  The system may not be the same"

Hi Stephan,  just to check a few things...

- are you  running as administrator in OME?

- are you admin on the OME server?

- are you  Admin on the Remote Linux server?

thx!

Rob,

I'm logged in on the ome server with the administrator account so I think I'm also administrator in OME ?

And i'm using the root account on the linux server.

Thanks Stephan,  Just to be clear, when you click on your user name in the top right corner of the OME console, you should see a tooltip that says something like OmeAdministrators.  Is that correct?

Hmmm....Ok, Stephan I'm kind of stumped.  I'm going to have to direct you to the support queue (800-945-3355 ) to see if they can dig a big and find something that might be the cause.

Another option is to try the Dell Troubleshooting tool that is installed on your desktop along with OME.  It has an SSH test that might prove the problem exists outside of OME.  Maybe that will be useful.

thanks,

Rob

Rob,

I don't think ssh is the problem since plink.exe is working ok ?

Can I just call the normal support number for this ? (I'm located in europe)

Hi Stephan,  yes, it is supported globally.  Sorry we couldn't get a quick fix in the forum.
