Can't find hard drive battery replaced

Stupidly removed and then replaced same battery cell. Now Intel matrix manager does't find hard drive. Have tried changing boot sequence, booting with Dell Windows DVD, nothing works. Keeps looping back to Intel Matrix message and giving options to use DVD installation, last known configuration, safe mode, etc. but ultimately goes back to Intel Matrix screen. Hard drive is found in System Summary with F12.

Do you have a RAID setup, eg two hard drives either sharing pieces of all files (RAID0) or one hard drive automatically making a backup of everything on the other hard drive (RAID 1)?

Reboot and press F2 to open BIOS setup. Look for the SATA Drives 0 through 4 settings options. Make sure SATA0 is set to ON if you don't have RAID, or set to RAID for SATA0 and SATA1, if you have a RAID setup.

Be sure to save the changes before exiting Setup.

You can find more info in the manual.

Always include PC model and version of Windows in your posts.

When you removed the battery, you reset BIOS to factory defaults. Sounds like the SATA Operation mode setting is now incorrect in BIOS setup and needs to be changed.
