Dell 3847 Sound Card?
Hi:
Can a after market sound card be added to a Dell I3847?

Hi Snowme,
Yes, any aftermarket card for which a slot is available and supported by your OS should work. Please let me know if you have a specific card in mind.

I gave a Audigy2 but the Board looks like it only has 2 extra PCi 1 slots I guess I would need some sort of PCI-1 adapter to do install this SCard.
I already installed a newer VCard. in the PCI-E slot.
To bad a online manual with MB blowup layout is not available anywhere I have looked.

You cant use an audigy 2 card. Recommended card would be dell soundblaster Recon PCI-E card.

That adapter likely does not work. PCI-E X1 slots that are version 3.0 do not clock down to PCI-E 1.0 speed so the older PCI 32 bit 33mhz cards won't even be seen. The Audigy PCI card is over 10 years old.
