Dell Dimension 2400 USB Problem after XP boot up
I have a dimension 2400 that i am having an issue with. The USB ports stop working after Windows XP boots up. My keyboard does not respond when windows has booted up. I know it works because i can access the bios with it and also access the boot menu. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have yet to try a PS2 keyboard yet because i dont have one. I did try an adapter usb-PS2 which did not work as well.

Hi Ocboy,
How about safe mode? If your keyboard works in safe mode, that would indicate the problem is driver related.

I tried booting in safe mode but it still would not work. I ended up buying a PS-2 Keyboard and found out that the Plug and Play was disabled. Once i enabled it my usb keyboard and mouse were working once again. just thought i would let you know what happened.
