Dell Dimension 5100 USB
I have totally demolished one of the front USB ports on my desktop. Are these replaceable? What are the steps? Where do I get the parts?

I have totally demolished one of the front USB ports on my desktop. Are these replaceable? What are the steps? Where do I get the parts?

They can't be individually replaced, but you can replace the front I/O panel that contains the USB ports. Your service manual is here: Dimension 5100 Service. Look under the heading of Removing and Installing Parts, Front I/O Panel. To get the part you should contact Dell Spare Parts. In the U.S. they can be reached at 1-800-357-3355. If you live outside the U.S. I'm afraid you will need to search a bit for the info. The manual doesn't seem to contain the part number, but if you give the Dell Representative your service tag number he should be able to locate a part for you.
