Dim8300 USBs not working

Hi All,

I have a Dim8300 running XP SP2.  Most of my USB ports are no longer recognized.  I think the solution is to reinstall the Chipset drivers.  However, when I attempt to do that, the install procedure stops at either 45% or 60% complete.

At this stage, I can't update my Ipod, can't load pics off the camera, etc. 

Is it time to throw in the towel or is there a solution for this issue.
