Dimesnsion 4300 does restart instead of shutdown
Hello all,
I have a Dim 4300 that I just installed a new HD. So I have a fresh install of XP then I did all the Wndows updates thru and past SP3. I also have AVG installed but that is all.Nothing else. Whenever I select "turn off"(shutdown) the computer shuts down fully. I mean Windows seems to shutdown gracefully and the monitor goes off. I even hear the staticky sound as the monitor powers off. But about 2 seconds after that, the computer restarts.
Not sure where to start.

Thanks Bev but the problem was not software. There was a setting in the BIOS that was making it power on automatically. I guess for users who want to power on their computers with a power strip.
