Drivers on Dell Optiplex GX270

Hi, I've just done a hard disk upgarde on a friend's Optiplex GX 270 and internet doesn't work and output resolution is stuck at 640x480.

I'm guessing I need this driver for the integrated graphics (so I can get the resolution off 640x480):

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R126991&SystemID=PLX_PNT_CEL_GX270&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=11167&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=6&fileid=169013

and this driver for the ethernet socket to work:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R66787&SystemID=PLX_PNT_CEL_GX270&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=4159&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=86705

Am I right or do I need different drivers?

Many thanks,

Froskoy

The network/ethernet driver is certainly the right one, but it's impossible to say whether that's the right graphics driver, without knowing which specific graphics chip is on his particular motherboard?

It's obviously important to make sure you choose the right driver, else it could mess up the system :emotion-55:

You should be installing the chipset driver before the other drivers.  Did you do that?  Chipset driver:

Guaranteed Solution (Tested) for Optiplex GX270 Resolution -  NEW

1. Power up the computer
2. Press F2 to enter BIOS
3. Scroll down and select INTEGRATED DEVICES (LEGACY SELECT OPTIONS) and press ENTER on keyboard
4. Scroll down to ONBOARD VIDEO BUFFER and change value to anything other that 1 MB. e.g. change value to 8 MB. (to change the value, use the right and left arrow keys)
5. Press ESC twice

Answering 4 year old posts, would seem to be an exercise in futility, so I have locked this thread.
