Dual Monitor display Problem with DisplayPort and DVI at same time

Hi,

I have the following problem. I have an optiplex 780 with onboard VGA and DIsplayPort slot. I also have a optional pci card with a DVI-D single Link slot. http://img.webme.com/pic/m/multimedia-guides/dvi_connector_types.gif

Using DisplayPort for main monitor + VGA for second monitor= ok

Using DVI for main monitor + VGA for second monitor =ok

Using DisplayPort  for main monitor + DVI for second monitor = FAIL

I do not want to use VGA, because the quality is bad. What do i have to do to get Displayport and DVI working at the same time on 2 monitors? DP for main and dvi for second. or vicaversa.

big thx

With integrated video you must use dvi and vga for dual monitors. The display port is essentially the same as the dvi. You need a separate video card for dual dvi support.

The Motherboard is a Dell E93839. So the Motherboard would be capeable of handling 2 digital signals if i get another card with a dvi slot?
