Hard-drive disk failure
Hello.
On several attempts to boot my computer (Insp 530), I receive the error "hard-drive disk failure." The error, however, doesn't happen all the time. I'm currently using the system. When I check the BIOS during those errors, the hard drive is not recognized.
Any ideas? I've tried disk check and restoring factory image but no luck.
Thanks.

Sounds like a failed, or failing hard drive, run Dell diagnostics extended test on the drive.

Thanks for the response. Well I believe the HD has officially died. While on Windows desktop, the screen flashed blue and the computer restarted. I can't believe the drive only last 16 months.

Thank you for the heads up.
Yep, believe it, I've had new hard drives fail in less than 30 days. :emotion-4:

* Restart the PC, at the Dell splash screen press the Ctrl - Alt - D keys to initiate the hard disk drive diagnostic
* The test may take up to three minutes to run the diagnostics (the time is dependent upon size and speed of drive)
* What are the results?
