Initial sign-on screen

I don't know if this is the proper forum or not as there is very little information that comes with a new computer but my question is about the initial sign-in screen.  When you turn on the computer the Windows 8 sign screen comes on in seconds.  Other times it my take  up or 15 or 20 seconds.  Is this normal?

Hi JosephHenryHudson,

You may try a clean boot.

Refer the following link which has steps to open “MS Config” in Windows 8:

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

  • Configure Selective Startup options
  • In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
  • Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
  • Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
  • Click the Services tab.
  • Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
  • Click Disable All, and then click OK.
  • When you are prompted, click Restart.
