Inspiron 1300 Black Screen

I have a problem although it is intermittent. The screen goes black, although it will sometimes come back if I lay screen down 90%, but not close, and then reopen. Sometimes this does not work and will have to reboot.

It happens during start-up process, after starting and working for awhile, basically whenever.

I saw a similar problem posted and the inverter was singled out.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
