Is there a Windows Update Faq area?
Just wanted to find out if my Vostro 230 is capable of upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 64-bit. (the 64-bit is a requirement for installing the MS Windows Phone Dev tools)
Didn't want to post in the wrong area. Maybe I should just try installing the 64-bit and get back to you.

Yes there is, but not at Dell. Windows 8 has an Upgrade Assistant that will determine if you can upgrade and what you need to uninstall or update. windows.microsoft.com/.../upgrade-to-windows-8 Be aware that the upgrade assistant will say you can upgrade but you have to determine if the necessary changes and incompatible programs and hardware are worth the expense.
Edit-- the vostro 200 probably does not have cpu that is capable of running 64 bits. Check your System properties in Windows 7 to see. Control Panel, System

Thanks, I had a feeling though that, as Mary is saying, that my Dell was a little too low end to support 64-bit.
