NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256MB

My screen is going blank intermittently and DXDiag shows it is failing all 3D tests. I cannot play most of my games and start up screen (Dell) look like it's digitilized as if it were on a very low graphics setting.

I have an XPS 400, 3 GB with 1GB of RAM.

Does this mean that the video card is failing already? Thanks in advance.

Have you ran the F12 extended tests yet, they will help if you have hardware problems inside the computer.

No, I didn't know that they had that. I did do the Dell PC Checkup online but it showed that all the hardware was Ok.

Could be the card is overheating, make sure the fan is working on the card.

No such luck, Warranty has expirered. I don't think I'm going with anything GeForce anymore. I've never had any Video Cards go bad on me before. This was my first GeForce and it only lasts 3 years. Thanks for everyones help.

The fan is working ok and the temp is ok.

I hit F12 and ran the hardware diagnostics and it came up as Video memory failed test "Memory should be FFFFFFFFFf2 but is reading EFEFEFEFEF2".

That pretty much nails that question then.  I hope the system is under warranty, if so call support with your diag results, else plan on replacing that card.
