Great job on the new drivers Nvidia. My 3D score dropped 400 points. Keep up the good work. What a waste of time.

Well, the verdict is in: these drivers are junk. They seem to be just as buggy as the 177 beta drivers which were released in August. While these drivers have integrated physics into the architecture, they're junk if they can't perform without problems. One thing I can say about owning an ATI, I NEVER EVER had problems with drivers like I have with the NVidia. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I'd have thought they were supposed to give better numbers due to the Physx support and so on :/

What were your problems guys? I haven't gamed with them yet so not really tested.

Well, upon installation and playing COD4, my system froze up and my screen started flickering twice in less than 10 minutes. I reinstalled the 175.19 drivers and it hasn't done it again. The PhysX is nice but...if they can't produce a driver without bugs, then they shouldn't release new drivers until they get the bugs worked out.

I rolled back to the 175.19 drivers also. Can someone please tell me how to properly clean up any old drivers on my system? Thanks

Just played a lil bit o wow for an hour or so and it was fine, not really stressed it yet though.

Hows everyone else getting on, also does anyone have any games which this new phsyx  supposedly affects em? As if its just the like, 5 games that the card supported than its a bit pointless them including it.

The list of games currently using PhysX is given in

Consensus so far is for leaving these alone IMHO

GeForce 178 crashed two times in Crysis Wars as well as several incidents of artifacts that I didn't have before, so I've reverted back to GeForce 175. :robotsad:

So far only one instance of odd artifacts in Crysis Wars. Mind you I've a single gpu and I've dissabled the PhysX side of the driver.

Could the problems be due to poor SLI support?

Proably more like trying to get the PhysX installed into the driver. Was proably rushed to get the version out.
