No Audio device after Re-installation of XP

Calling all Drivers!

I have an Dimension 2400.

I reinstalled Windows XP after a plague of viruses.

I have reinstalled all of the drivers on my Dell Resource CD.

However, my computer states that there is no audio device installed.

I have regular Dell A215 speakers.  Can someone give me a heads-up on what Dell has negliected to tell me about what drivers I am missing?

It depends what order you installed the drivers. the CHIPSET DRIVER MUST BE INSTALLED FIRST!!!!!

Also, go to the bios setup by restarting the computer and tapping F2 as the bios splash screen appears.  Use the arrow keys to go to onboard devices and select the category by pressing the enter key.  Check your entry for sound and make certain that it is enabled or set to "on", whichever is present.  This setting occasionally switches to the "off" state under certain conditions.
