No HDMI signal

Hi, can anybody help?

I have a two year old XPS-8700 desktop, now with Windows 10 64-bit and 16 MB RAM, with NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 graphics card. Today I tried to connect to it my HDV camcorder Canon HV20 through the HDMI port at the back (the lower graphics card one, as the motherboard socket is closed), in order to transfer some videos I have not tapes. However, there is no communication, the Dell doesn't see the Canon at all. On the previous desktop I used to do it through the FireWire port, but the Dell doesn't have it.

I enabled Intel multiple display in BIOS, as advised on this forum some time ago, but it didn't help.

I read somewhere GT720 is quite weak, is this the reason? On the other hand, Nvidia claims this card is fully capable of video handling.

Will appreciate any advice.

Oops, sorry "on tapes" and not "not tapes".

nycho123,

Unfortunately, I have information in my database that contains any information conntecting the camcorder. You will need to contact the maker of the camcorder for instructions.
