OptiPlex 755 BIOS A21 to A22 Update Failure
I have a Dell OptiPlex 755 which I am trying to update the BIOS from A21 to A22. I receive the following error message:
Attempting BIOS update – this may take up to 10 minutes . . .
BIOS Update Failed!
The firmware image failed one or more consistency checks.
I have Signed Firmware Updates enabled.

I received the following reply from Dell via chat:
I believe that our engineers are still working on a fix as we speak
As far as we know, no updates have yet been provided.
Has anyone confirmed this?

Hi econlsp,
Are you installing the BIOS update from Windows? If so, try the DOS method. You can run it either from a floppy or bootable flash drive. Add the EXE file to your boot disk, boot the system and run by typing Y:\O755-A22.exe (where Y is the boot drive letter).

I have updated multiple OptiPlex 755 to A22 on Windows 7 64 Bit to A22 without any incident.

Did you have "Singed Firmware Update" enabled in the BIOS?

Download the Bios update file on a machine with XP onto a flash drive and then run as administrator from the flash drive.
WITH ANTIVIRUS Software UNINSTALLED especially if you have AVG.
I find that windows 7,8 incorrectly downloads .ZIP and .EXE files as corrupted files.

The post by SpeedStep is incredibly wrong and I wish it could be deleted. There is nothing wrong with the file as the hashes compare.

Download results in a corrupt Zip file for some and not for others
