Optiplex 170L Boot to Network

*NOTE: I also posted this in BIOS because I did know which section is most applied to

Hello everyone, I have had 5 Dell Optiplex 170L's donated to my organization because we are starting a Teen Center. I have set up a terminal server and all I have left to do is get these bad boys to boot to my network to I can finish configuring. Of the things I have read on the internet, the Optiplex 170L has the ability to boot to network using PXE protocol, but I cannot figure out how to do it. There is no option for it in the boot sections of the BIOS, not in the "F12" boot menu. I have upgraded my BIOS to A07 just recently without any luck.

Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously, considering their age and the fact that they are donated, there is no support from Dell on them.

Thank you.

Before the option to boot from lan will appear in the boot device menu you need to enable that feature in the BIOS.

On boot press F2

In the BIOS step down to Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Options) and press enter

Step down to Network Interface and press the space bar to step through the options

Press Enter when it shows "On w/ PXE"

Press Esc and confirm save changes

The Network Boot option will not be in the boot sequence menu unless you reboot the PC anyway and go back to the BIOS settings but if this is an infrequent option then it is better to leave it at the bottom of the list and just use the F12 option to select network boot as and when you need it.

Hope this is what you are looking for!
