Optiplex 5040 SFF - Front USB 2 connector with PowerShare stopped working after adding new 2.5 SATA disk

When I installed a new 2.5 SATA disk in my Optiplex 5040 SFF, the front USB 2 connector with PowerShare stopped working.

When I uninstalled the disk, the front USB 2 connector with PowerShared started to work again.

Because the power supply just have one sata power-cord I used a splitter to supply the two disks with power.

According to the specifications it should be possible to use to hard disks in the Optiplex 5040 SFF.  I have just not been able to figure out how :-)

I have not been able to find a reason for this, can someplease help me :-)
