Optiplex 990 missing SMBUS driver?
I have an Optiplex 990 which I formatted and used the Dell Windows 7 x64 Pro disc to reinstall Windows. After loading all drivers (chipset was the first one) device manager still shows no driver for the SMBUS controller, any ideas?

SMBus is part of Intel's chipset driver. It's not a stand-alone so it can't be posted separately. You have to install the entire chipset driver to get all of its component software, including SMBus.

This resolved my issue. I do not understand why this driver is not listed under the Drivers for my Optiplex 990???

This driver IS LISTED under CHIPSET Driver.
