[Q] How to boot GX755 XP from cold off via Keyboard sequence or hotkey ?
On my ASUS MOBO, I can hit a key sequence on KBD to boot XP from cold off.
From initial research, my Dell GX755 cannot do this. We have a number of these deeply mounted in racks behind flat panels, and getting to power switch is difficult. We have them rigged now in BIOS to auto-boot on rack power on, but if we want to bounce them cold, having a KBD sequence would be great.
Anyone know of a way using existing, or add on package for the GX755 ?
Thanks, J

I've posted about this also. You can turn the wake on lan feature on and send them a magic packet. Unfortunately, I can't find any utility for this other then PCnet Magic Packet on AMD's web site. Unfortunately, your only supposed to use it with AMD equipment even though it's downloadable.
I've asked if anyone knows of a Dell utility or a freeware application for this but haven't gotten any responses yet.

Thanks R,
I was able to configure the BIOS to boot inititally on power up of the rack, but if you want to command a cold boot - as opposed to a reset - we have to open up the rack.
I love my ASUS KBD power on capbility - I hope DELL will review this and add to their future MOBOs.
I'll look into a wake-on-LAN tool, but that seems too complex.
