RAID 0 on DELL 530
Sorry if this has been answered already but i'm new to the forums. I have a question i have a DELL Inspiron 530, it has an Intel IHC9R controller which provide RAID 0 however when I try to setup a raid array in the intel utility I only get Raid 1 as an option I have 2 WDC WD2500AAKS-009A0 (250GB, SATA200, 3.5", 7200rpm, 16MCache) hard drives but cannot get it to offer RAID 0 ... I am using the latest BIOS .18 --- is there another BIOS i can get which will enable Raid 0 or is there something else i can do?
Thanks in advance

Dell has no support for RAID 0 for the Inspiron 530 series.
See HERE
But, there is a hack to use RAID 0 with the 530, go HERE.
Note: I have no idea about the viability of this, having never used the hack with my 530MT.

Thank you for your response ... kind of what i suspected. I'm really security conscious so not sure about using the hack as not sure where the BIOS's came from and do not want to put an unsecure BIOS in my machine.
Thanks for your assistance in this.
