Hi scaccomatto1234,

Dell Inspiron 580 has 4 slots. The system accepts a memory capacity ranging from 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB. The memory type accepted is DDR3 1066 or 1333 MHz DIMM only. The computer supports a maximum of 8GB of memory.

But this is also true if I have a 64-bit operating system?
In some places they say they were able to overcome this limitation ...

Yes, it is true, the Inspiron 580 supports a Maximum Memory of 8GB, even with a 64-bit operating system.
