Replacing the Power Supply in my Dell Dimension 5150 Desktop PC

Hello,

I was bought a Power Supply for this christmas and Im not sure what one it is yet as I am still waiting to receive it as at the time the place it was bought from online was out of stock but I think its the one in the link I have provided as that is the one I showed someone to buy me and I want to know if it will be fine to use in my Dell Dimension 5150 with the original DELL Motherboard? I have also been given a new Graphics Card which is the NVIDIA GeForce GT240 1GB DDR3 Card so will it work well with that as well?

Link: www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php

Thanks!

Not in a 5150C

The 5150C is not full size and does not have full height slots.

The 5150 E510 does not provide room for DUAL SLOT cards so the 240 MAY NOT FIT.

Hello

Thanks for your reply. My question was referring to the power supply in the link provided to see if it was compatible with my motherboard and my new GT240 card is not a dual slot, it is single slot.

Thanks!

If its a single slot card then it will fit into a 5150/E510 TOWER.  It will NOT FIT in a 5150C slim desktop.

Same is true for the power supply.

The OcUK Swift 650W V2 Silent Power Supply shown in your link, should work fine in the Dimension 5150/e510 tower version and with the GT240 video card.

Hello Shesagordie,

Thanks for your reply. So will that power supply work with the original Dell Motherboard that the machine was shipped with?

Thanks

Yes, it should, the Dimension 5150/e510 supports a standard ATX power supply.
