SSD installation and enableing secure boot after it (Dell XPS8700)
Hello,
I installed SSD on my XPS 8700 through the following steps:
- Installed SSD physically
- Disconnected HDD
- Changed in BIOS settings to boot from DVD-ROM
- Disable Secure book in BIOS, since it would not let me to boot from DVD-ROM
- Installed Win 7 on SSD
- Reconnected HDD
- Formatted HDD
- Planning to install Win 8 pro.
Now I would like to enable Secure boot, but when I do it computer cannot boot at all. Any suggestions?

Hi August_month,
This is really an OS question, but there are plenty of articles on how to enable secure boot, such as this one.

Win7 does not support secure boot but why would anyone want such a mechanism?
Secure boot increase security in the same way as adding a strong lock on your front door while keeping all your other doors and windows unlocked and open...
Secure boot is simple a security placebo designed to lock you out of your own hardware and brings a walled garden app shop mentality while slowing down the adoption open source systems... It's not good...
