Solid amber light
Have a dell Dimensions e521 with a solid amber light when turned on with no diagnostics lights on. Motherboard power light is on, power supply fan and cooling in front are on. Video board is a ATI x1300 256mb pci bought a year ago, original board died. Opened the case and video board fan was not running. Removed and cleaned it up, fan now spins but amber light still solid. Service Tag . Have a lot of photos and music on hard drive and don't want to lose it all. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm Not a computer guru but understand some things about them.

Have you tried cleaning your memory, also remove your memory , and replace one by one to check each module.

Cleaned and reseated video board and memory, installed one at a time problem still exists. Thinking that when case was removed and saw the video cooling fan not working the board is fried.
