T7500 USB 3.0 PCI-E card
Hi,
Anyone knows USB 3.0 PCI-E card that works on T7500?
Tried 3x - two from Orico and one no-name but all of them use VIA chipset and even they install correctly - I only hear beep when pendrive is connected/disconnected but doesn't show up in Explorer :(
Tried DVD-RW drive - still no errors and no new drive in Explorer :(
TIA

The only chipsets that work are NEC Renesas. You need cards that have power cable and NEC chipset that are compatible with EVERYTHING including Mac OSX and are PCI-E 2.0 not PCI-E 3.0 ORICO PME-4U
Compatibility
-It has a wide range of compatibility. It's compatible with Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7/8/8.1 with WHQL certified driver. Compatible with Mac OS X V10.8.x without additional driver, other Mac OS needs GenericUSBXHCI open source USB3.0 xHC driver.
-Fits any PCI-Express x1, x2, x4, x8 or x16 socket, compliant with PCI-E base specification 2.0.

All 3x cards have power connectors attached.
But why reading flash drive - old USB 2.0 - would require extra power?

You may need a powered USB 3.0 hub -- though the cards add USB 3.0 ports, they generally don't supply much power -- likely not enough to run a flash drive.

That's what I was afraid of :( that the problem is with VIA chipset :(
I have ORICO PVU3-7U and ORICO PVU3-5O2I.
Thanks for the link :) I'll try to find it cheaper ;)
