TRouble now with audio drivers T7500

Hi,

I have now lost my SOUNDMAX audio drivers maybe since a Win 10 update.

Where do I get the correct drivers please?

I use Cubase and Audition and both can't get a driver to record.

Very strange cause it was always great.

That PCIe x1 card could go in slots 12, 15, or 17. Not the white 11 or 13. 14 and 16 are reserved for video cards.

The 2009 Precision T7500 was never validated with Windows 10 =

We only provided drivers for Windows XP/Vista/7. Soundmax was part of our onboard ADI 198x sound chip. You can attempt to install the Windows 7 64-bit audio driver using compatibility mode. But no guarantee that it will work. Might be time to consider installing a Windows 10 certified PCIe x1 sound card.

Thank you.

I reinstalled the driver and using under 7 compability mode Cubase still does not play or record.. freezes in fact.

It was all okay until a few days ago. Win 10 must have done an update.  Have the same trouble with Audition CS3 and 5.5

What should I be aware of if buying an new card.. any type of PCie e.g. ?

Well I bought a SoundBlaster Audigy RX PCIe but not sure what slot I can place it.

Can I use slot 6 (white one) I tried but is seems a very tight fit to get the small guide tab on the card to be on the outsdie of the slot.

I have 7, 5 and 1 free it lools like.

Thanks

Thank you so much.  The image was very helpful and I eventually placed it in slot 17 on image.  In  slot 12 I have an esata card so I can run my 4 drive Addonics box.  15 and 16 are a 2 display Graphics card and 14 is very hard to use as the very wide graphics card goes right up to the slot. Anyway hopefully I want have to go to another4 card for something because of Win 10. :-)

The Soundblaster is now installed and shows everywhere it should so my troubles should be over for this anyway. If not I guess I'll be knocking on the door again.

Many thanks again

I'm having this same issue and I'm considering buying a new sound card as well. Most sound cards (including the one that you bought) have a connector for the front panel headphones/mic audio port. did you connect the DELL's connector to your sound card to keep the functionality of the front audio connectors? or did you just lost the front connectors altogether?

Front Panel audio is a very specific connector.  Connection goes from Motherboard to PCI sound card.
