Upgrade from a 960 to 990
I have an Optiplex 960 and I would like something a bit faster. The Optiplex 990s are selling pretty cheap on Ebay.
I have Windows 10 on my machine and am wondering if I purchased a 990 could I just move the hard drive over from my 960. I know that sometimes the difference in chips will prevent upgrades such as this.
Any help appreciated
Thank you

You can't do that because you would get STOP 7B inaccessible boot device and or HAL errors etc. The video is not in the cpu on the 960 and it is on the 990. The Sata Controller is not the same between the 2 systems.

Newer versions of windows say Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart.
