Vostro 400 reset Bios Issue

Hi There,

I been notice that every time I unplug the power cable on my Vostro 400 the system reset the BIOS for some reason without moving the jumper or removing battery from the motherboard. Is this a factory issue or there is a way to fix this? I'm asking because I have a friend that has a Vostro 200 and it has the same issue.

The CMOS battery is likely dead.  It's a CR-2032 lithium button cell - available for about $0.25 - 0.50 from Amazon.

The motherboard battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

CR2032 3-volt coin cell battery, ~US$2.00 at discount stores. Read and follow the directions in the manual to replace the battery.
