Workstation Low performance when disconnecting Charger

Hi guys I have a Dell Precision M6800 with Quadro k5100m Nvidia Graphics, I'd like to know what could be happening with my laptop since when I'm using pointclouds in Recap and also other softwares that use a lot of graphics tends to slow down when I disconnect the charger and notice a much better performance when I'm using the charger. Where should I check this performance options so it always performs the best without considering the level of my battery.
