XPS 435T/9000 ATX Compatible

As the subject says, are these computers completely ATX compatible as to Motherboards, wiring hookups ect. ect.

Already know Power Supply no problem as to already upgraded to 850W from 475W.

Is there anything still Dell propriety only??

Other than locked BIOS.

Thanks

Thats good to know.

Hope the same for the 435T/9000.:emotion-2:

Have been researching this and now on Extreme OC board and getting alot of help.

For about $300.00 plus OS price going to upgrade to an ASUS board and going to be able to do what I

want when it comes to Overclocking CPU-Memory-Multiple Vid cards ect. ect. And using all the components

I have with the exception of the Motherboard. The new board I'm looking at is even set up for USB 3.0/Sata 6

and the next Gen i9 6 core CPU if in future go that way. Already have the 850W modular PS so for under

2 Grand including the 435T/9000, top line rig, and heavy on futureproof.

Good luck on yours:emotion-21:

When you say new setup, what exactly i.e. Motherboard ect. ect. did you change.

Know the 8000 and 9000  different systems but close enough as to electrical and data pinouts.

Only thing I worry about on the 9000 are the front panel connections./ Card readers/USB/ ect.

Know I can get the ASUS board in there and working but would like to have all the front panel IO inputs

connected to new motherboard.

What board did you go with? Overclocking CPU,Memory?

Thanks:emotion-1:

Intel uATX DP55SB.  I wanted a Asus Maximus Gene III but with my dual slot 5870 it covered the PCI-e x1 slot for my USB 3.0 card.  The Intel board was the only one with the features I needed.  RAM is 8GB Corsair Dominator 1600. My i7 860 is now overclocked to 3.6Ghz and the Asus EAH 5870 is at 1.2V 950Mhz core and 1250 on the shader. Another reason for changing it was that the SATA connections were very slow.  I increased my Intel 80GB SSD transfer by 100Mb to 250Mb transfer (read) rate.

All connectors from the XPS8000 case were spot on to connect to the Intel board.  Front panel audio, USB,  and power switch.

Another plus of the Intel board was that I can add a second 5870 to it with no problems even though I would be x8 on the lanes.

Good Job, and nice to know you stuck with the Dell case. Helps others who like their cases or

don't want to add it to the price of upgrade. Like the looks of the 435/9000 case and lots of room inside. Were

your front Usb ports 4 pin connectors? Think all usb 4 pin/2 data/2 power. Also have card reader/Memory stick ect, plugs

and Hope their atx factor. Only other thing on the 9000 would be the OEM CPU cooler and fan assembly retension.

Want to OC on air so upgrade good anyway with new cooler. Think can keep upgrade under $380 including new cooler.

Haven't seen any boards with two or three x16 slots. Usually 16/8/1.

Going to order the board and get started. Board alittle pricey, But will take new I9-6core,Sata6 and Usb 3.0 when

they come out. SSD nice to, but to much dinero for to little space right now.

Z06psi,

Know this is an old thread but just to let you know new computer up and running.

Decided not to use the dell case and went with the new Coolmaster  690 II Advanced case.

ASUS P6X58D-E board/i7-930/Corsair 1600 mem/Sata 3 640 WD/Corsair H50 Push-Pull/CM850W PS/XFX 5770x2 Crossfire.

Titanium SB card in new build and on board sound activated for 9000.

Had alot of items from Dell XPS 9000 upgrade. 850W from 475W/ 5770 from 4850.

Dell back to stock and Her's now, and new build sitting at 4.0 with room for alot more.

Did it for less than paid for the 9000. (Live and learn).:emotion-5:

How's the Vette running??
