XPS 720 GRAPHICS SLOT SLI
Wandered if someone could help?
I have XPS 720, and I'm having trouble with the primary graphic card slot.
Slot was working ok until i tried to go sli with two 8800 GTS 512mb, now i can only get one card working in the upper PCI slot.
If i put card in Primary slot i cannot change screen res and if i look in the BIOS it shows the slot empty ie doesn't recognize.
Is there anyway i can try and re initialize the slot, because i do not think its a card problem as they both work ok in the upper slot.
Sorry i forgot, error message came up first time i tried Sli regarding 'unable to initialize slot' or something very similar.

I would suggest you try a CMOS reset. First go into the bios and make note of your current settings. Then apply the reset and see if the reset reinitializes the PCI identifications. Procedure HERE

Not sure but have you reversed the SLI link cable. Somewhere I read that they are not all fully bidirectional.
