XPS 8700 - GT635 Overheating when playing games.

I have this PC for years, and last year my GPU started overheating (The same game I've played with 70°C was now 100°C), so I cleaned everything and Reapplied the Thermal Paste on the processor. So everything was back to normal.

But last month, it started all again, but now everything is clean. Just to make sure, I cleaned it again but when I play a game like Overwatch, when the GPU is at 70°C, the game runs on 60 frames per second. But after 10min playing, the GPU is already on 103°C and the FPS has a massive drop to 20~25. This all started last month.

Could someone help me? Please, I know it isn't supposed to be like this.

My GPU is a GT635.

I expect you will be happy with the 1050, compared to the 635.

is the fan on the graphics card spinning?

you said you re-applied GPU paste. what brand paste did you use?

Another approach would be a new graphics card.  a GTX 1050 can be found less than $100 and is GT 1050ti for just over $100. They run cool and quiet and easily have 3 to 4x the graphics horsepower than the 635.

Just a thought.

Which CPU on your the 8700?

Well My solution was to buy another graphic card. I bought a GTX 1050 and it'll arrive soon.
