XPS730 H2C High Idle temps! need help pls.
just got the 730 h2c and i noticed that the idle temp readings are averaging 60C and i contacted dell and they told me that it was normal to idle at 40-50C they said that ESA will do its job to cool the ssytem when needed, anyone who has 730 h2c please advice on this.
730 H2C QX9650 Factory OCed to 3.67ghz GTX280 2GB 1067 500GB Vista Home x32
added: used real temp 2.70

I haven't got much help, but just a comparison.
I have a XPS 720 air cooled Q6600 and 8800GTX, my idle temps average 22C-31C over the four cores and 51-53C for the gfx card.
I think your temps seem a little high for H2C, but hopefully someone more experienced will come along.

now his CPU fan is now running at 100% vs 1% as before. And his CPU temps have dropped from the high 80's to the high 50's.
so your idile temp of 60c seems normal

it does seem idile at 60c is somewhat warm,,i would not be happy with that temp.. my e8500 runs at 38c all the time surfing......
run this program and see what temp you have-
