Xps 8300 graphic card upgrade - AMD 7950

Hello, I have a dell xps 8300 with stock power supply. With the recent video card deals I am tempted to upgrade my graphics card. Will I be able to install 7950 AMD on this motherboard and be able to drive with stock power. I have been looking at the forums on dell and couldn't find an answer. I don't have a another PC to hack the bios and then install on my PC. What r the other 7XXX AMD will the xps 8300 support. Thanks.

Hello SharkHunter1981,

AMD Radeon HD 7950 would require a 500W (or greater) power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors. However, AMD Radeon HD 7750 and AMD Radeon HD 7730 require 400W power supply and would work with the 460W PSU shipped with the system.

Hope this helps!

Hello SharkHunter1981,

That shouldn't be a problem.
