cannot get SATA #2 on MB to work with DVD or HD - OPtiplex 780
My Optiplex 780 came with main HD on SATA-0, and DVD drive on SATA-1. I need to put 2nd SATA drive on SATA-1 and move DVD to SATA-2, but it will not work on SATA-2 connector of MB. It does not appear anywhere I have looked. Does the SATA-2 port need to be activated somehow?

The sata ports are turned on/off in the bios. Hard drives usually belong on sata port 0--for the main drive and sata port 2 for the secondary drive. Leave the dvd on sata port 1. Tap F2 as soon as you reboot to access the bios and turn port 2 on to connect the second hard drive..

Thanks. I had looked into the BIOS before but did not notice the checkmarks at the top of the page. SATA-2 was unchecked, so I checked it off and hopefully that will do the trick
